Corporate Mission
The corporate mission of the Princeps Group of Companies is to seek extraordinary risk adjusted commercial value through entreprepreneurial and financial endeavors while seeking to identify investments that provide commercial solutions that provide significant long-term humanitarian benefit.
Primary Investment Targets
Princeps seeks to identify primary investment targets that fall into three categories: (i) large commercial and/or multi-site opportunities with anticipated high margin and growth ratios; (ii) highly distressed companies or industries where asset values are expected to rebound in less than three years; and, (iii) agricultural, trade, energy or infrastructure projects that require western financial and/or technological expertise to develop and promote the opportunity.
Investment Criteria
While each investment comes with its own unique investment considerations, Princeps targets investments that meet the following criteria:
- Require debt and/or equity funding of at least US$ 50 million
- Generate a pro forma project IRR of at least 18%
- Sponsor has secured or will quickly secure the contractual rights to the business and/or opportunity
- Available exit options can be achieved in 3 to 5 years
Deal Sourcing
Princeps is typically contacted by a member of one of its many global commercial networks and relationships to assist a party who has or expects to contractual have control of a commercial opportunity. Princeps is asked to: (i) form the business strategy; (ii) formulate the business legal and tax structures; (iii) operate the business and/or recruit exceptional key management and board level personnel; (iv) establish accounting and/or financial systems with goal of meeting the standards established by the major global exchanges; and, (v) finance the business including the eventual exit.
